Windsor Academy’s Knight baseball program has included three S.E.A.I.S or GISA State Championships in 1976, 1978, 2007, and State Runner-Up in 1977 and 2012.
The 1976 thru 1978 Knights Baseball teams were led by Head Coach Michael Harrelson and Assistant Coaches John Norman, Joey Claxton, and Ricky Dennis. The 1977 team included MVP Danny Spires, Pitcher Tim Nobles, Stan Newberry (Most Versatile), Ken Waters (Best Defensive), and Greg Morrison (Best Offensive).
The 2007 team (15-4) was led by Head Coach Walter Banks and Assistant Coach Dwayne Fuller. That team included All-State members Tanner Gordon, Timothy Sark, Matt Barlow, Hunter Graham, and Cole Ratteree.
Windsor Academy Knights - BaseballThe 2012 team (18-8) was led by Head Coach Ricky Worsham and Assistant Coaches Harry Manning and Greg Bowden. That team included All-State/All-Region members Joseph (JoJo) Barnes, John Whitsel, Jonathan (JB) Brooks, Caleb Shipp, Peyton Kell, and Kaleb Fuller.
No. 24 Jerry Edmund Bass (Class of 1973), No. 15 Michael Randall Mimbs (Class of 1987) and No. 20 Mark Ivey Mimbs (Class of 1987) are the only baseball jersey numbers retired. Jerry Bass had a 1.97 ERA with 4 no-hitters and went on to Georgia Tech. Michael Mimbs had a 1.18 ERA and Mark had a .9 ERA on their way to Mercer University. All three were drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Michael was later drafted again in the rule 5 draft and pitched a one-hitter for the Philadelphia Phillies against the Atlanta Braves.
